TS137

TS137 is a new building for flexible dwellings and office spaces on Torstraße in Berlin-Mitte. Its courtyard facade is conceived as an open grid of slabs and columns, a spatial framework that can accommodate changing uses over time. Deep balconies, planters and sliding screens occupy the grid, turning the facade into a vertical garden and a layer of outdoor rooms for every unit.

The structural frame allows floor plans without load-bearing interior walls, so that apartments and offices can be combined, divided or converted as needs evolve. At dusk the building reveals its inner life, with each bay lit differently and personalised by its inhabitants. The project proposes an urban typology that is robust yet adaptable: a durable framework in which the city can keep reinventing itself.
