HS16

HS16 is an attic conversion in Berlin in which the existing timber roof structure is exposed. The beams and struts are painted white and become part of the interior, structuring the open living space and the kitchen.

Skylights bring daylight deep into the rooms, including the bathroom, and the reduced palette of white surfaces and light timber floors creates a calm and bright atmosphere. The project shows how the character of an old roof can be preserved while creating comfortable contemporary apartments.
