DÜR02

DÜR02 is the refurbishment of an apartment in Berlin in which a single element transforms the whole plan: a curved wall of glass blocks. The wall encloses the bathroom and allows daylight to pass into the corridor, turning a dark circulation zone into a luminous, softly glowing space.

The curve guides movement, eliminates corners and gives the apartment a gentle, almost sculptural character. Terracotta floor tiles, smooth lime plaster and the translucent glass create a warm and tactile palette. Inside the bathroom, the bathtub sits against the glass wall, bathed in diffuse light. The project demonstrates how, even in a small refurbishment, a precise architectural decision can reorganise space and atmosphere.
