BAN04

BAN04 is the refurbishment of an apartment in Berlin, completed with a limited budget. Instead of covering the existing structure, the project exposes the raw concrete walls and ceilings, revealing the texture and history of the building.

The concrete surfaces are combined with simple, warm materials: timber floors, white tiled walls in the kitchen and built-in furniture that organises the space. The bedroom and corridor are arranged along the exposed concrete, which becomes the backdrop for everyday life. The project shows how a reduced material palette, honest construction and careful detailing can give an ordinary apartment a strong and lasting identity.
