TERMO

TERMO begins with what is already there: a farmyard in the Irish countryside, a group of stone barns, some of them roofless, held together by walls, gates and the patient geometry of rural work. The project does not erase this order but inhabits it. The existing ruins are consolidated and read as a found landscape, while new volumes of dark timber and stone slip between them, keeping the scale, the pitch and the rhythm of the old yard.

Inside, the pitched timber roofs are exposed and the thick stone walls become deep reveals for large, carefully placed openings that frame the courtyard, the trees and the fields beyond. Light arrives low and soft, filtered through fog and rain. Living rooms, a study with a reading corner and bedrooms are arranged around the yard, so that daily life is always oriented towards the shared outdoor room. TERMO is a quiet exercise in continuity: a new way of living that feels as if it had always belonged to the place.
